Document Outsourcing Highlights its growing business with the help of Xerox

DO installs a further two DocuTech 180s to address its growth in critical mail document processing

UXBRIDGE, UK, 30 January, 2008 - Document Outsourcing (DO), the specialists in critical transactional printing, has recently invested in two additional Xerox DocuTech 180 Highlight Colour Systems to cope with the increasing demand for its growing critical transactional mail business. To help with the production and mailing of more than a quarter of a million critical documents per day, including overdue bills and bank statements, DO has chosen the DocuTech 180 to improve productivity, handle larger job volumes and provide the capability to enter new markets.

DO’s installation of four DocuTech 180 systems means that it is now one of the few companies in the UK to have the capability to handle substantial volumes of personalised, highlight colour work.

Gerry Crawley, Sales Director at DO, said, "As the leading Xerox highlight colour outsourcing company in the UK, highlight colour now represents more than 65% of our increasing digital workload and the machines we had in place could not cope with this growth. The requirements of producing critical transactional mail with tight Service Level Agreements meant that we needed machines that were speedy and reliable enough to allow DO to produce cost effective documents with highlight colour that improve customer satisfaction and loyalty. We have partnered with Xerox for more than ten years so we knew that they understood our applications and could provide the right solution to help grow our business."

The Xerox DocuTech 180 has been designed for both print-on-demand/publishing and transaction print applications, and is therefore ideal for printing invoices, statements and other critical documents. The machine prints at 600 x 600 dpi colour and 600 x 2400 dpi black, runs at 180 ppm and can handle custom-blended highlight colours in order to maximise the customer’s brand and increase the emotional impact of the documents.

This deal also included the installation of the newly launched Xerox DocuColor 260 in addition to the existing DC7000 to handle other types of full colour critical documents

Peter Taylor, Director and General Manager, Production Systems and Graphic Arts, for Xerox (UK) Ltd added, "For some time now DO and its customers have recognised the value personalisation and colour can bring to a document, particularly within the transactional mail market. This latest installation of Xerox highlight colour systems clearly addresses DO's business needs and represents the customer’s faith in Xerox's machines and support service."

December 2007

Document Outsourcing C9 Access Agreement with Royal Mail was concluded and signed on 21 December 2007. This licence allows DO to enter into the regulated postal market as an independent operator as of 3rd Dec 2007.

At the above date DO are the only independent outsourcing company in Scotland to hold a C9 Royal Mail licence
